The Misunderstood Power of Judgment
One day, I found myself pondering why people disapprove of being judged. Judgment is a fundamental ability that every living being possesses. All living beings have fear, which tells them what is bad, and faith, which tells them what is good. When these two energies come together to reach a satisfactory conclusion, it is called judgment. Judgment is the spirit’s ability to make considered decisions or come to conclusions.
However, I have observed that while people do value judgment, they often use the word incorrectly. They do not disapprove of judgment itself; rather, they disapprove of labeling. Labeling is a byproduct of judgment, but one epithet should not define the long and complex life of a being. After judgment and labeling, the next step is condemnation, which is an expression of complete disapproval of a specific behavior.
We do not want to be condemned, but that does not mean we should cut off the root source of progress, which is judgment. Without judgment, we would not know what is right and what is wrong.
In essence, judgment should be viewed as a tool for growth and understanding, not as a means to pigeonhole or diminish others. It is through thoughtful judgment that we navigate our lives, make better choices, and ultimately, improve as individuals and as a society.
