The Journey from Mirror Spirit to Free Will: Breaking the Traditional Dream

A spirit can only become truly free when it becomes aware of and matures its will—the inner force that drives it toward its own desires and choices. Until this awakening, the spirit follows the path of what can be called a "mirror spirit." This mirror spirit reflects the behaviors and desires of others, forming its identity based on external influences. Without a developed free will, it becomes a passive entity, chasing the desires of the collective.

For many, this mirror spirit follows the well-trodden path of what society refers to as the "traditional dream." This dream encapsulates the commonly accepted milestones that people strive for, often without questioning whether these pursuits align with their true desires. It becomes a template for life that many mirror spirits unconsciously follow. The traditional dream consists of six key phases:

  1. Car: The acquisition of material status symbols, often starting with the desire for a car, represents independence and success.
  2. Partner: Seeking a romantic partner is considered a natural step toward emotional fulfillment, though often influenced by social expectations.
  3. Marriage: Marriage is seen as a culmination of love and partnership, solidifying a union that society deems important for stability.
  4. House: Home ownership becomes the next goal, symbolizing security and the achievement of a significant life milestone.
  5. Kids: Parenting is typically seen as the next phase in life, a continuation of the family line and societal contribution.
  6. Death: The final chapter, where the pursuit of these goals is concluded in the inevitable end.

For many, these steps represent the path to a fulfilled life. However, for a spirit that remains unaware, this journey is not one of freedom, but rather of conformity. It is the journey of the mirror spirit, simply reflecting the desires of others and the norms of society.

To truly break free from this cycle, a spirit must become aware of its will and question these predefined dreams. Only then can it forge a path that is authentically its own, based on genuine desires rather than inherited goals. The liberation of the spirit begins with self-awareness and the conscious choice to live by one’s own principles, not by those that are merely mirrored from society.

True freedom is found not in the acquisition of external markers of success, but in the realization and pursuit of what one truly desires. A life lived with a free will, rather than as a mirror, is one that transcends the traditional dream and embraces individual authenticity.
